Today, February 10th, is “P.S. I Love You Day” here on Long Island. Celebrated on the second Friday of February, “P.S. I Love You Day” is a day dedicated to bringing awareness to mental health and decreasing bullying.
On this day, communities are encouraged to wear purple “in order to foster kindness and a welcoming environment, and educate others that mental health is just as important as physical health.” You can read more about their mission here.
For weeks, teens involved in their student-led Christian clubs across Nassau and Suffolk counties, have been preparing to serve, and love, their peersĀ and teachers today!
At 6:45 this morning, students from the Ichtus Club at Half Hollow Hills West High School, handed out Lifesavers Guides (from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) which they had attached purple lollipops to, to every student and staff member as they entered the building. This afternoon, the kids from Cornerstone Christian Club at Mineola High School passed out purple laffy taffy candy adorned with encouraging quotes on them!
We are so proud of how radically and selflessly our young people serve their school communities!
Would you join us in praying for teens on Long Island today?
Oh, and P.S. WE LOVE YOU!
